The program was initiated the by Boswell Memorial Hall Society in Feb 2014 after a rash of winter break-ins at vacant properties. It proactively addresses community concerns and implements strategies to improve crime prevention through community policing initiatives in a safe manner. It is simply another layer of crime prevention on top of what good neighbours always do and that is to watch over our neighbours properties. Members report suspicious activities to the Creston RCMP. Our group works in partnership with the RCMP in Creston and with the Ministry Of Transportation and Infrastructure. It has been in place for over seven years and has over 65 members. There are monthly/bimonthly reports and advisories of local interest as required emailed to the members.
The Boswell Memorial Hall Society fundraised and received a discretionary grant from RDCK Area A for the installation of crime prevention signs from Kuskanook to Gray Creek.
