Our purpose is to promote the health needs of residents living in the East Shore Communities as well as assisting in identifying those needs, advocating for medical and other support to meet those needs, and sometimes fundraising to meet them. We cooperate with other community groups with similar goals and are members of the BC Rural Health Network.

We support the East Shore Community Health Center in Crawford Bay. The Society owns the land the Center sits on, and we actively work with Interior Health to improve the medical services provided at that location.
We support the East Shore Transportation Society in its attempts to improve public transportation in our area. We sponsor the Focus on Health initiative in partnership with Interior Health, Selkirk College and The University of Victoria College of Nursing. And, we support the Elder Connect, Better at Home, and the Hospice society programs in any way we can.

We invite all East Shore residents to become members in the Society. The fee is $5.00/year, payable by cheque to the East Shore Kootenay Lake Community Health Society or by INTERAC e-transfer to the Nelson & District Credit Union, EShealthsociety@gmail.com.
